Sabalenka was already in the finals of the Australian Open and Roland Garros this year, but lost both finals. She never managed to win Wimbledon before.
Madison Keys is stranded in third round
Madison Keys was previously the next high -ranking player who was eliminated on Wimbledon on Friday. The sixth-placed American lost in two sets of the German Laura Siegemund: 6-3, 6-3.
Keys won the Australian Open early this year by beating Sabalenka in the final. The 37-year-old Siegemund is currently the number 104 in the world ranking. She had not got any further at Wimbledon before the second round.
