Brilliant free on Silverstone’s Friday for the Red, the Team Principal: “We can improve, the balance is not yet optimal”. The pilots feel comfortable with the SF-25
They had surprised Leclerc’s statements that on the eve of the weekend in Silverstone had shown himself confident to a Ferrari victory in England. If initially his words had made many turn up to many, they no longer seem so impossible after the two free practice sessions, where the reds seemed competitive and able to have their say throughout the weekend. Ferrari has always been the protagonist with Hamilton under the command of the FP1 and Leclerc second in the FP2 in front of the British. The two SF-25 showed off a good race step and excellent times on the dry lap, which bode well for the rest of the weekend. Positive signals, therefore, after the updates brought to Austria. Despite this, Team Principal Vasseur is not yet fully satisfied with a not yet optimal balance and has invited not to draw hasty conclusions, even if it provides “a good battle, perhaps the best since the beginning of the year.”
The words of Vasseur

“Today it went well both in FP1 and FP2. On the race step we were constant, although perhaps we have pushed too much at the beginning of the simulation. But it’s okay to be aggressive, it is encouraging tomorrow”: Fred Vasseur thus begins his analysis of the day at Sky Sport. In his words we immediately read something different in the work done by the Maranello team during the day. In the Ferrari house, in fact, it is habitful to make a slow introduction of the rubber at the beginning of Stint, but in Silverstone the opposite happened during the race step simulation: “You have to find the right balance. In the race maybe you are more conservative at the beginning, but realistically you cannot be too much because maybe you are fighting. Today perhaps we have pushed a little too much”. With a performance so it is immediately wondering how much the new fund introduced in Austria has influenced: “We hope it has given us a hand. But honestly I think it is always a matter of putting everything together: a good set -up, a good balance and allow the pilots to focus on detail”, explains, “this is more important than a tenth or not that you can get from an update, even if clearly it helps us because we start from a better position”. However, we must not start with too much enthusiasm, we are only on Friday and the points are made on Sunday: “We will have to start from a white sheet. But probably a good battle awaits us, perhaps the best since the beginning of the year. Today everything went well but we do not exaggerate with expectations. The balance is not yet optimal, even if it is difficult given the conformation of the track, but we can improve.”
Leclerc’s words

Trust and enthusiasm also transpire from the declarations of the two pilots, who for the first time since the beginning of the season end the free with the impression of having found a square with the SF-25. “Today it went quite well because the sensations in the passenger compartment have been good, even if there is still a little work to do on the car”: Leclerc confirms what Vasseur said, “in configuration from qualifying it seems that we are not yet in place, while I would say that we are more comfortable on the race step. Overall, however, today I had a lot of fun driving and I can’t wait to return to the track tomorrow”.
Hamilton’s words
–
Special weekend full of meaning for Hamilton, who for the first time will run to Silverstone in front of his audience dressed in red. “Returning here is always special: this is the most beautiful circuit in the world and without doubt my favorite. It was fantastic to see so many people on Friday. The atmosphere is simply incredible”. In the first seasonal releases, Lewis never hid the poor feeling with the single -seater, but in Great Britain something changed: “In the car, moreover, I felt comfortable in both sessions, even if I found a little traffic in my fastest lap in FP2. There is certainly a margin.”
