Charon: “It helps me that we are both the same types in the base. We both have a lot of energy, find friends and family important and are not afraid of hard work. We just understand each other.”
Bring extra money
Charon: “My child’s dream was to become a doctor, but I was drawn to medicine. As a replacement I started to do HBO Nursing. For a year, I thought, to work on my resume. But then I went to rooms and at a student association. Yes, that was party. I noticed that I could dance on the tables three, four times a week, take an exam on Friday and also get that too! So I never did medicine again, but after four years I noticed that I was not happy with a full -time life as a nurse. I missed a challenge and searched for something next to it. That became flying for KLM. As a child I was allowed to help a stewardess in a Boeing 747, which then still had such an upper deck. That has always remained with me. Sitting in the office from 9 to 5 is not for me anyway. “
Daniël: “I have that exactly. After I had completed Mavo, HAVO and Commercial Economics, I mainly wanted to get started. I started with a business lender, but that was too slow for me. I am more an active type.”

Daniël: “Those are chores in the evenings or the weekend to get some extra money; I always did that. Sailing a boat on King’s Day, a car to Marbella, picking up something in the east of the country. Daniël: “I am proud that Char is such a hard worker and combines everything. I think I would be bothered by a partner who would be on the couch for eight days.”
Charon: “We both live in different houses with housemates. If possible, we sleep together. Always with me. Daniël lives in a real men’s house: one toilet has no toilet seats, Daan showered with his slippers. And I think it’s nice to sleep in my own bed after flying.”
