So far, the club World Cup has been largely gratifying for FC Bayern. In the round of 16, the Munich team now have to go against the Champions League winner.

FC Bayern is facing a demanding task in the semi-finals of the club World Cup. On Saturday, the German record champion meets Paris Saint-Germain (from 6 p.m. in the T-Online Live ticker)-and Thomas Müller expects a duel at eye level.

“The French are of course a house number,” wrote the 35-year-old in his monthly newsletter. Both teams are in good shape, and they know each other in and by heart. He therefore judges the game as “very balanced”.

However, the latest results speak a clear language: Bayern have won the past four competitive games against the reigning Champions League winner without conceding a goal. Most recently, the team of coach Vincent Kompany won 1-0 in the group phase of the premier class in November 2024.

According to Müller, the Munich team kept a close eye on the tournament victory. The offensive player, who plays his last games in the Bayern jersey in the USA, emphasized the special atmosphere in the team. It is something special to “have a real tournament experience with the team that has grown together for years”. The common spirit with the staff and the entire squad also play a major role and “creates a unique atmosphere”.
