After the demolition of the old swimming pool, space is released for a new city park: ‘Park Royal’. The zone extends from the Venetian galleries to the racecourse, and combines nature, heritage, culture and coastal defense.
“Suddenly there is room for a park with a sea view. We grab that with both hands,” says Mayor John Crombez. “It will be connecting to the people of Ostend and unique on the Belgian coast.”
