Shortly before U21 final defeat

DFB Managing Director Andreas Rettig criticized the publication of Bayern Munich’s advertising on striker Nick Woltemade shortly before the final of the U21 European Championship. “I would have liked the transfer policy of FC Bayern to not become public when Nick and the DFB have a big final in front of my chest. I find that from time ago, the 62-year-old was quoted by the” kicker “on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Congress Chiotec in Aachen.

Shortly before the lost final of the U21 juniors against England (2: 3 n. B.), it became public that the 23-year-old striker-until then perhaps the best player in the European Championship-had agreed to a transfer by VfB Stuttgart. Before that, it was said that the Swabians would cancel all interested parties. Since then, several representatives of both clubs have commented on it. Most recently, the “Sport Bild”, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany Plane with Woltemade, was even said in the starting XI.
If the change goes over the home straight, it could give VfB a record revenue. Woltemade, who has already debuted for the A-national team, is waving a salary increase to 7 million to 11 million euros per year at Bayern. Woltemades consultant agency is said to have rejected a counter offer for extension in Stuttgart with an increase of 67 percent to EUR 2.5 million.
DFB has taken note of Bayern-vessel noise around Woltemade
Rettig said that the advertising of Bayern was “not the reason” for the final defeat against the Young Lions. This was also emphasized by U21 national coach Antonio di Salvo on Sunday. Nevertheless, the background noise was “noticed” in the association, but could not change. “We would have liked it differently.” This was certainly not beneficial for the concentration on the game.
