As a replacement for Jonathan Tah: Bayer Leverkusen, U21 European champion Jarell Quansah from FC Liverpool has hired.

The 22-year-old signed at the football-Vice champion a contract until June 30, 2030. Quansah is intended to help close the gap that international Jonathan Tah left with his switch to Bayern Munich.

“With Jarell, our defense receives pronounced dynamics, speed and duel hardness and another very important component for the Werkelf of the future,” said Leverkusen’s sports manager Simon Rolfes in a club announcement. Quansah, who receives the number 4 in Leverkusen, was quoted with these words: “It is a great task and challenge for me to become part of the current Leverkusen departure.”

One of the most expensive accesses in the Club history

According to media reports, Quansah should cost the Bundesliga clubs around 30 million euros in transfer. This would make the Englishman one of the most expensive access in club history. Quansah defeated Germany with the junior national team in the European Championship final in Slovakia on Saturday (June 28).

For Liverpool, which has already signed Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer 04 this summer, Quansah has played 30 games in the Premier League so far. In the Champions League, he ran four times for the Reds.
