Ronnie Coleman is one of the big bodybuilding. But now there is worrying news about the 61-year-old.

Ronnie Coleman won the title in the most renowned competition in bodybuilding – the “Mr. Olympia”. He is considered an icon of sport, shaped sport for decades with his successes and his appearance. But now fans worldwide are concerned about the health of the now 61-year-old.

As announced on his official Instagram channel, Coleman has been in medical treatment since Sunday morning. In a first message, Coleman’s family reported that he was admitted to the hospital in “serious medical condition”, is currently being looked after and closely monitored. Despite the situation, Coleman shows “great strength and resilience,” it says.

Another update followed later. Accordingly, Coleman was moved to a special clinic. According to his family, he fights with an infection in the bloodstream. “Although his condition is still complicated, there are encouraging signs, and his medical team works around the clock to support his recovery.”

At the same time, the family already asked for consideration in the first message: “The focus is clearly on Ronnie’s health and the improvement of his condition. We ask you for your understanding and support to keep the environment respectful and free of speculation.”

Coleman has been struggling with health problems for years: his sporting success called for their price. The idol is now dependent on a wheelchair or a walking aid. Nevertheless, he remained loyal to his sport and continued to train in the gym.

Coleman is one of the most successful athletes in bodybuilding history. With a total of 27 titles at IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness), he set numerous records. In his active time, he moved up to 260 kilograms in bench press, 365 kilograms and 350 kilograms for the squat. In the leg press, he brought it to around one ton.
