A year of Eindhoven was sentenced on Monday to a community service sentence of 180 hours. The man presented himself as a window cleaner for years, but he almost never appeared on a job. He lifted at least seventeen people in and around Eindhoven. The 45-year-old man was visibly nervous during the session and immediately confessed to debt upon arrival. “I am guilty, so then I also have to sit on the blisters.”

José Manuel PM people in the Eindhoven area for a period of five years thousands of euros. “I had just left my dog when he came on a bike. He asked if I was still looking for a window cleaner,” says Rianne, one of the victims. “He had a whole folder full of addresses of his customers and also knew many details about neighbors. Everyone was neatly noted with name and signature. My window cleaner had just stopped, so he came at the perfect moment.”

Rianne is one of the seventeen victims. Her confidence in man has been damaged. “I can no longer meet people with an open mind. My confidence is damaged and I think that’s a shame.”

The victims present are not about the money, but especially about the principle, they say after the session. “I hope it won’t happen anymore,” says Ida. Her mother came to court with her this Monday. “I needed the money much louder at the time. He also responded to that. He knew I needed a new bed and then offered me to buy a bed from one of his friends, but I never got that bed. There were always excuses.”

The excuses of José Manuel are known for Rianne: “The first time it rained it, so he couldn’t. Because with bad weather the windows came to wash, it makes little sense. After that he suddenly needed a special cleaning agent that I had to pay extra for.”

José Manuel admits on Monday that he knew in advance that he would not use the money to pay for his work. He used the money for his addiction. “I no longer use daily, but it’s going with ups and downs. I need serious help, I am obliged to the victims, but also to my child and ex-partner. “

“I tried everything, but it doesn’t work.”

The judge sentenced José Manuel Pm to a community service sentence of 180 hours and a two -month prison sentence. He has to go into jail if he misbehaves again within two years. He must also repay all the costs that he has incorrectly charged. The amount is estimated at around four thousand euros.

The victims present were relieved after the ruling. They don’t want to call it satisfied or happy. “I am especially relieved that I can now close this,” says Ida. Yet their feelings are also a bit double. “He did nicely during the session and had a lot of talks. I first have to see that he wants to improve his life and then I believe it.”
