Ukraine reports loss F-16 in turning Russian rocket attack, pilot killed: ‘shot seven air goals down’

Ukraine reports that a fighter aircraft of the type F-16 was lost when turning a large Russian rocket and drone attack. The pilot was killed.

“The pilot used all his on -board weapons and shot seven air goals. While down the last target, his plane was damaged and started to lose it,” reports the Ukrainian Air Force on social media.

President Volodimir Zelenski considered X the death of the pilot. He called it a tragic incident. “My condolences to his family and combat mates. I have ordered the circumstances surrounding his death.”

Ukraine repeatedly lost F-16s during the war. The country received those aircraft from Western countries, including the Netherlands. It is unclear by which country the crashed device was delivered.
Russia regularly carries out large -scale attacks on goals in Ukraine at night. In the last series of night attacks, the Russian armed forces used 477 drones and 60 rockets, says Ukraine.
“In order to repel the large -scale attack, all available resources of the armed forces were used that can be used against enemy air targets,” said the armed forces. They report that 211 Russian drones and 38 rockets have been brought down.

Despite this large -scale Ukrainian deployment, damage is reported to homes and infrastructure. According to the authorities, at least six people were injured in the Tsjerkasy region, including a child.
