The search for a new sports director at second division Hertha BSC continues. The club is also said to have received a cancellation from Ralf Rangnick. Now there are new rumors.

The name Ralf Rangnick was also named as a candidate. Weeks ago, according to “Bild”, representatives of Hertha met with the national coach in Austria in Vienna.
The idea that Rangnick will take over the managing director office this season turned out to be unrealized, reports the “picture”. It was already the third cancellation of Rangnick to Hertha.
According to the report, there is still an exciting “back door”.
Rangnick was accompanied by Tomas Zorn to talk to Hertha. Rangnick is considered a mentor of anger. Together they worked together at Lok Moscow between 2021 and 2022.
Is Rangnick in after the 2026 World Cup at Hertha BSC?
The report brings the following scenario into play: Zorn could take over daily business in Berlin, but it would be supported by Hertha’s sports director Benjamin Weber. The Hertha Presidium apparently wants to keep it.
Rangnick would then bring in his ideas and concepts as a consultant. After the 2026 World Cup, he could start at the traditional club in a managerial function.
No decision has yet been made in the Hertha. However, time is pushing. The club negotiates with several candidates. All important management items are currently open in the academy, the new managing director should be able to have a say here.
