The German Social Democratic SPD wants the government to make preparations for a ban on the Alternative Für Deutschland (AfD) party. The SPD members voted at the party conference for a motion to ban the AfD after the German intelligence services that party had labeled at the beginning of May as a right-wing extremist organization.
