TOVventure on the ground of the “toxic masculinity” today, saying something new and countercurrent, is still difficult. Let alone joke about it. An attempt experiences the Netflix series Real malestaken from a Spanish script of the same name.
Four men’s protagonists: the male chauvinist manager, fired in favor of a colleague, with a competitive frantic influencer; The barbar serial traitor, put in crisis by a hidden girlfriend, who would however like an open couple; The according father with a dissatisfied wife who throws himself into the arms of a young personal trainer; Her clumsy husband, in separation, but still in love with his wife, enrolled in Tinder by an apparently convinced daughter that exclusive relationships should no longer exist. In short, two Alfa and two beta males.
The four will back, confronting a chat in which they call themselves “real males”. In reality, to cheer for a return to the masculinity of the past are only the Alfa. Who claim the right to excel still on women, to harass them and betray them, in the name of a different biology that sees them naturally dominant.

A thesis that already underlined to the book by Francesco Piccolo The animal I bring inside mebut here declined with less awareness (it is still a TV series). The Alfa will live on their skin the harmful consequences of their blind backwardness, in an ending in which they will be forced to redeem themselves, attending a course against toxic masculinity. In which the beta will also participate, who however triumph, finding, as hoped, the love of the wives.

In short, the series, having no “scientific” but playful purposes, It ends up overturning reality, in which Beta males are in crisis, while the Alfa continue on their waystrong of the consensus that have always been obtained with seduction.
An honest story should not reduce the disorientation of the Beta to a clumsy pantomime: minimizing their crisis is the first mistake to look at. The second is to ignore them. The last, if we look at the daily chronicles, is to think that their problems do not tragically concern everyone/and we.
