After months of preparation, the NATO summit took place this week. The eyes were mainly focused on US President Donald Trump. Would he behave? A lot of flattery from NATO boss Mark Rutte was needed, but despite extreme statements and chaotic press conferences, the goal was achieved. Rutte and Trump have the 5 percent standard and the alliance seems to be intact for the time being.

In these Affairs in The Hague you can hear from diplomacy expert Michel Kerres and foreign editor Steven Derix about the NATO top. About the geopolitical political relationships and what they mean for European and therefore Dutch politics.
