Already on matchday 2, Hamburg will get its city derby between HSV and St. Pauli in the coming Bundesliga season.
This was announced on Friday (June 27th) as part of the publication of the game plan for the coming season.
“Carnival duel” on matchday one between Mainz and Cologne
The opening game between FC Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig for August 22nd. had already been announced on Thursday. The first opponent after the Bundesliga return for the 1st FC Köln is the 1st FSV Mainz 05, which also has home right at the start. The first Cologne home game the following week goes against SC Freiburg. For HSV, an away game at Borussia Mönchengladbach is coming up on the first match day.
“Rheinische derby” in November
On the 7th matchday, the weekend from October 17th to 19th, Bayern Borussia Dortmund received a “classic”. The Rhenish derby between Gladbach and Cologne will be held on the weekend from 7th to November 9th. The “Nord derby” between HSV and Werder Bremen rises on the 13th matchday, the weekend from 05 to December 7th.
