In the meantime he has recovered from the greatest shock, but dentist Pedram Wasseghi still notices the consequences of the situation where his dental practice in Emmen ended up in Monday. The building on the Bislett was evacuated at the beginning of this week after several people became unwell.

“Two colleagues are still sick at home,” says Wasseghi. “And a third colleague still has some complaints.” In addition to breathing problems, those involved had to vomit and suffered from red eyes.

An official cause has not been found, but the owner of the dental practice says that the problem is probably due to a cleaning action. “The fire brigade has not been able to find fabrics in measurements and no leaks have been found. What happened is that the toilets in our building were cleaned with Bleekgel on Friday. They were not flushed, so that the building may be filled with a chlorine air. It hung it in the building all weekend,” he says.

The two employees who are still at home were the first in the building on Monday, according to the Wassseghi. “They also smelled that chlorine air. They immediately thrown open windows, but first had the full layer,” he explains.

At the time of evacuation there were also patients in the building, “but then the chlorine air was not that strong anymore,” the dentist adds. The practice could open again the same day, but the appointment had to be moved from a number of patients. For Wassseghi, it is now a matter of getting the planning again, because there are two more colleagues from the running and a number of agreements from Monday had to be moved.

According to him, the issue has no consequences for the longer term, so no research would be required by the Labor Inspectorate. “I am still talking to the cleaning company about how this could happen, but I will not take steps. This has never been anyone’s intention,” said dentist Wasseghi.
