Yannik Hanfmann was the last German tennis professional in the second qualification round of Wimbledon. The Karlsruhe was defeated on Wednesday in London to the Kazakhens Bebit Schukajew 6: 7 (7: 9), 3: 6 and thus missed the entry into the third and last round.
This means that only three German men are represented in the main field of the classic lawn. Alexander Zverev, Daniel Altmaier and Jan-Lennard Struff were qualified for the first round via the world rankings.
In the women on Wednesday with the former Wimbledon quarterfinalist Jule Niemeier and Ella Seidel, the last two German players remaining in the qualification will meet in the second round. Three German professional players also qualified for the main field with Tatjana Maria, Eva Lys and Laura Siegemund.
