With the exception of the Ibrahim Maza, who was already committed during the second half of the season, Bayer 04 Leverkusen has so far been waiting for newcomers for the offensive to catch the loss of Florian Wirtz. According to information from “Sky” and the “Kicker” on Monday, there is now a new candidate for the successor, with whom it even becomes concrete: Malik Tillman should come from PSV Eindhoven. On Tuesday, “Voetbal International” even reported that players and clubs already agree. The situation around Tillman’s exit clause and ex-club Bayern Munich has been clarified far from.
The 23 -year -old playmaker, who comes from the youth of FC Bayern and in the summer of 2024 after previous loan for 12 million euros, had switched to PSV, has an exit clause in Eindhoven. The TV broadcaster had roughly prescribed this last December at EUR 30 to 40 million. Now it is said that the Werkself has committed itself to wanting to activate that clause.
Tillman and Bayer Leverkusen agree: dispute over the exit clause threatens
On Monday, only the talks with Tillman himself were open, which was successful on Tuesday, according to information from the Netherlands. Curiously, Leverkusen, too, could not completely plan with the American international. Since Bayern secured both a buyback clause and a matching right last year, they could accuse the direct competitor in theory. However, there is currently no evidence of such a plan.
Update June 24th: According to “VI”, PSV Tillmans clause and the Matching Right of FC Bayern differently evaluate, but has contradicted himself in the past. Accordingly, one is convinced in Eindhoven that only the Munich in 2025 could pull the clause, while the Dutch champion had previously recorded that it would not only apply in 2026 anyway. Leverkusen and the player believe that they have access to the contract option from a certain date. PSV denies this, in the worst case, even a legal dispute threatens.

Tillman had drawn attention last season with 16 goals and five templates in 24 games and increased its market value to EUR 32 million. He is the most valuable player in his team and the third value of the eredivisia. In Leverkusen, it should therefore be planned as a direct replacement for Wirtz. Just like the German international, Tillman can be used flexibly on the offensive.
