Defending champion Germany must worry about quarter-finals at the U21 juniors’ handball World Cup in Poland.
With a 35:35 (19:15) in the first main round game in Kielce against Spain, the team of coach Martin Heuberger missed the chance for premature moving into the top eight.
After the end of his success series of twelve victories at U21 World Championships since 2019, the youngsters of the German Handball Federation (DHB), which was still undefeated in the tournament, was under pressure against league leaders Egypt on Tuesday (9:00 p.m./Dyn).
A seven -meter in the final second prevented a seven meter from Florian Drosten (MT Melsungen) from the first defeat. The DHB team had previously played out a comfortable lead from the increasingly stronger Iberer in the final phase.
