In an accident on the N33 near Assen, a car came up in a ditch this morning. The car came from the A28 and wanted to drive in the N33 in the direction of Rolde, but hit the water at the bottom of the slope and ended up in the water.
The accident happened by 9.30 am. Emergency services rushed out. Fire brigade, ambulance and police arrived. The fire brigade provided assistance in the accident, while the victim was checked in the ambulance.
The driver was eventually taken to the hospital. Nothing is known about the severity of the injuries. The exit has been closed for a short time to be able to store the car. The police are investigating the accident.
