He was no luck at VfL Bochum, now Peter Zeidler has a new job. The 62-year-old takes over the coaching post at the Swiss first division club FC Lausanne-Sport. He succeeds the former Bundesliga professional Ludovic Magnin, who has switched to FC Basel. Bochum also benefits from the change, where Zeidler with a contract was still on the salary list by 2026.

Zeidler started the past season as a Bochum coach. Under him, VfL only scored one point in the first seven Bundesliga games and left the DFB Cup in the 1st round. The Zeidler district club separated before the eighth matchday. At the end of the season, Bochum rose. Previously, he had been on the FC St. Gallen sidelines for many years, in which 242 games were booked. Lausanne is now to St. Gallen and his third stop in Switzerland.

“You don’t have to imagine him, his career speaks for him. With his wealth of experience, his knowledge of the Swiss championship and his successes, Peter is predestined for this post. His experiences are characterized by a strong and pronounced DNA that fits perfectly with our game and developmental ambitions. Peter speaks perfectly French, his integration into the club is guaranteed. He was our first choice, I am very satisfied,” said sports director Stéphane, “said sports director Stéphane,” Henchoz.
