France’s tennis hope Arthur Fils will not compete in Wimbledon after retiring at the French Open.
The 21-year-old officially declared his cancellation for the classic lawn in all England Club on Saturday (from June 30). Fils had suffered a fracture of fatigue in the lower back area in Paris, the recovery period was not enough for the three-time ATP tournament winner.
Fils is number 15 of the world rankings and the French number one, last year he came to the round of 16 in Wimbledon-that is also his best result in a Grand Slam tournament.
