Festival on the Amsterdam Ring started with starting signal for Run
20,000 people participate in the running event, who cover 3.75 kilometers. They start in stages. The course was shortened on Thursday due to the heat, it was first 7.5 kilometers. The first starting wave was the Special Run, for people with disabilities.
A large part of the A10 was deposited for the celebration this Saturday. The festivities are on the inner ring, the outer ring remains free for emergency and emergency services. In the event of large crowds, so -called sector separations are set up on the A10 that ambulance, police, fire brigade and other essential care providers can pass through.
There are performances all day and evening, for example from Kris Kross Amsterdam, children’s games, music and numerous other activities. For example, twenty couples give each other the yes, whose first is married by Mayor Femke Halsema.
Given the crowds and the heat, the number of visitors to the festival on the Ring is maximized at 253,000. Initially, 280,000 digital tickets were available and another 40,000 paper cards. But 16 percent of the 280,000 tickets have not been claimed, there are around 45,000. Of these non-acclaimed tickets, around 4000 are forgiven for people who were on the waiting list. 13,000 were handed out of the paper tickets.
There are 344 free water taps. Visitors can also rub themselves in different places with sunscreen and there is extra first aid support.
