Last year Quincy promises had been sentenced to six years in prison. Now he was apparently delivered to his home country – by private jet.

He is convicted of the smuggling of cocaine and a knife attack: Quincy Promes. Now the Dutch professional footballer has been delivered to his home country from the United Arab Emirates, according to a media report. As the daily newspaper “de Telegraaf” reports, the 33-year-old landed with a charter flight in the Netherlands and was then brought to a detention center. Where exactly it is accommodated remained open at first.

Promesse was sentenced to six years in prison by the Amsterdam court last year. The court saw it as proven that the 50-time Dutch international was involved in the smuggling of around 1,350 kilograms of cocaine over the port of Antwerp in January 2020.

Promes had already received one and a half years of prison for serious assault. At a family celebration, he had stabbed a cousin in the leg after an argument with a knife.

It was originally planned to convict promesses with a scheduled flight. This option was rejected due to security concerns and the high probability that it could be photographed. Instead, a private jet was used – with costs of around 100,000 euros for taxpayers.
