The Hurricane Festival 2025 officially started – but already on Thursday (June 19) there was the first traffic jam around Scheeßel. The police are already in use to ensure the safety of Hurricane visitors.
Many visitors made their way early to be on site for the first acts such as 100 kilos of heart and room27. The festival has already started with a warm-up program, which motivated many fans for former camping. However, the downside was traffic jams on the access roads. Visitors reported that they had to wait two hours in the surrounding villages to drive to the camping site.
Police controls visitors at the Hurricane Festival
The police were already on Thursday. During controls on the Sottrum motorway exit and in Hamersen, the officials pulled ten drivers out of circulation by evening due to drug use. One person was on the road without a driver’s license. The police also covered two cases of ticket fraud. A total of around 500 police officers around the site are in use over the entire weekend to ensure security.
The authorities and the organizers rely on their proven traffic concept again this year, which has been used for nine years and has been steadily optimized. Sheila Schönbeck from the state authority for road construction and traffic said in advance that there were no relevant construction sites in the vicinity of the festival this year. Potentially disturbing work was completed at an early stage or adjusted accordingly, so that the journey to the Hurricane Festival should be largely smooth.

If you don’t make it to Scheeßel, you can follow many concerts in the live stream as usual.
With 65,000 tickets sold, the festival is not yet fully sold out, but the line-up leaves nothing to be desired. Almost 90 acts are on the plan-including headliners such as The Prodigy, Green Day and AnnenMayKantereit as well as Ikkimel, Olli Schulz, Apache 207 and Jan Böhmermann with the Ehrenfeld radio dance orchestra.
