The traditional pilsner or pils is best suited to the barbecue sausage.

– Sausage fat and bullies of Pilsner work well together because the bitterness cuts the fat. Because of this, the sausage tastes better and there is no fat in the fat, says the chairman of the Beer Association Anikó Lehtinen.

Lehtinen also advises that the high bitterness of India Pale Ale beers (IPA) reacts nicely with sausage fat.

The light lager, traditionally favored by Finns, is best suited for vegetable sausages.

– The animal’s fat and vegetable fat are different, which is why lighter beers are suitable with vegetable sausages, says Lehtinen.

At the Midsummer Table, Lehtinen recommends fresh, cool drinking beers.

– Dark and very strong beers, such as the Imperial Stout, may feel heavy when a lot of everything is eaten at midsummer anyway.

According to Lehtinen, refreshing and light beers better balance the harmony of different midsummer foods.
