The Jokers and the Pelicans met in the league qualifiers. The Jokers baked a strong financial result last season. Tomi Natri / AOP
The Jokers won Mestis in the past season and continued their games in the league qualifier. The qualifiers ended at Pelicans, and so the team will play next season in Mestis.
The Helsinki team’s season was financially strong, the club says in a news release. Jokerit Helsinki Oy and its subsidiary Ilmala Shops had a total turnover of EUR 5.15 million, which is high in relation to the league level.
– We were able to significantly increase the business. More than five million net sales are an extremely tough performance in Mestis. It is a league level, even though it does not include TV money, chairman Mikko Saarni notes.
SM league teams will receive more than one million euros in TV money per season.
Money for juniors

The Jokers’ operational result was EUR 525,000, from which it guided EUR 470,000 to support junior activities.
– The final operating profit will be around € 50,000 and may still be slightly upward.
Saarni believes that in the 2026-2027 league, there will be changes in the league system.
– Over the last two years, we have built skills that will allow us to participate in the revised series system. We are grateful that we can be involved in the discussions, even though we are not at the heart of decision -making. I believe we have shown that we are at the highest level in Finland, Saarni thinks.
“Hartwall Arena”?
The average of the Joker home matches was approximately 4,500 last season. Juha Metso / AOP
The Jokers played home games of the past season in the old ice rink in Helsinki, which has a valid agreement for next season’s match.
At the same time, negotiations with Helsinki-Hall, the former Hartwall Arena, are still ongoing.
– We are negotiating in a good spirit towards Live Nation. The situation is new to both parties, but we are still active. Hope we will be able to tell you something more detailed in the near future. We will do our best to get back in the arena next season, Saarni reveals.
The Jokers will start a new season with Lace Tournament on August 1.
