Derek Dixon met Perry in 2019. Perry soon would have sent him “strange and unwanted” messages. In January 2020, Perry invited his co-actor to his house in Georgia. Perry would have given a lot of alcohol, after which Dixon could no longer drive home. That night Perry would have abused the actor.
After this incident, Dixon got a fixed role in The Oval. After the first season, it would be unclear whether Dale, the character that played Dixon, would remain in the series. According to Dixon, Perry threatened that the character would die if the actor would not go into his sexual advances. Perry is said to have sexually attacked Dixon in a trailer on the set and on a trip with the cast to the Bahamas in October 2020.
Stress and insomnia
According to the court papers, Dixon visited a doctor in December 2020 who found that the actor suffered from stress, stomach problems and insomnia. Dixon states that this is due to the incidents with Perry. In June 2021 there was another similar meeting where Perry Dixon attacked, again at Perry’s home.
In January 2023, Dixon himself left the show, who has since started his sixth season. His exit is said to have been inspired by all the stress of the alleged sexual attacks of Perry. According to Dixon, getting up cost him $ 400,000, the amount he would otherwise earned with his role during the season for which he was still planned.
