FC Utrecht probably meets a heavy opponent

4.50 pm: FC Utrecht knows the teams where the possible opponent comes out in the second preliminary round of the Europa League.

Earlier, four possible opponents were already known: SC Braga (Portugal), FC Lugano (Switzerland), Anderlecht (Belgium) and FC Midtjylland (Denmark).

In addition, four possible opponents will be added, who first play a duel in the first round: the winners of Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine) against Ilves Tampere (Finland), Legia Warsaw (Poland) against FK Aktobe (Kazakhstan), Partizan Belgrado (Cyprada) and Serpiff Larnacus) (Moldova) against FC Pristina (Montenegro).

There will be a draw on Wednesday for the second preliminary round of the Europa League.

Mark van Dijk and Margit de Voogd eliminated at World Cup Judo

2.27 pm: Judoka Mark van Dijk was stranded in the third round at his World Cup debut in Hungary. The 24-year-old Dutchman lost in the class to 90 kilograms of the Frenchman Maxime-Gaël Ngayap Hambou. Van Dijk fell behind with a Yuko, moisture to the end, but was unable to score. The Dutchman had a Bye in the first round and won Achraf Mouti in the second round of the Moroccan.

Margit de Voogd was eliminated in the class of up to 70 kilograms in the second round. Play-off duel postponed after food poisoning at Salernitana

2.45 pm: The play-off match against relegation in the Italian series B between Salernitana and Sampdoria has been postponed to Sunday. Salernitana had applied for postponement after 21 players and staff members were hit by serious food poisoning during the return trip after last Sunday’s lost game in Genua (2-0).

The second game would initially be played on Friday. The series B decided to resist the competition for two days after studying medical documents and a complaint submitted to the Public Prosecution Service by Salernitana.

According to the Italian news agency Ansa, there are suspicions about intent and the police are considering conducting an investigation. The Italian sports newspaper La Gazzetta Dello Sport reported on Monday that the police visited the hotel in Genoa, where Salernitana was staying before the game and would have eaten meals with rice for the return flight.

Jesper de Jong eliminated in the first round Halle

14.08 hours: Jesper de Jong did not succeed in reaching the second round of the Halle grass tournament. The number 93 of the world ranking lost in Germany with 5-7 6-3 3-6 of the seventh-placed Czech Tomas Machac.

De Jong lost in the qualifications in Halle, but was added to the main schedule as a Lucky Loser. He stranded last week in the first round of the Libéma Open in Rosmalen.

The 25-year-old Dutchman held pace against Machac up to 5-5, after which he returned his service to the first breakpoint of the party. In the second set he broke his opponent twice and lost his storage once. The Czech, who won his first ATP title in Acapulco this year, turned things around with two breaks in the third set.

Athletics team in the strongest possible occupation to European Land Teams

Also European shot put Jessica Schilder is included in the team, as well as the European indoor champions Lieke Klaver (400 meters), Menno Vloon (pole vault jumping) and Samuel Chapple (800 meters).

Bol does not start on her favorite part in Madrid, but runs the 400 meters flat. At that distance, by the way, she is a 49.17 second holder of the World Record Indoor. Klaver comes out in the 200 meters. Furthermore, a place has been reserved for the international toppers Nadine Visser (100 meters hurdles), Jorinde van Klinken (discus throw) and Niels Laros (5000 meters).

The Netherlands against sixteen best athletics countries in Europe

The Dutch team fights in the first division against the sixteen best countries in Europe. At the previous European Championship for countries in Poland in 2023, the athletics team finished sixth. Bol, Klaver and Vloon then won their part. Italy (gold), Poland (silver) and Germany (bronze) won the medals.

The sixteen countries compete against each other on seventeen parts and the athletes score points with their classification. The three countries that end up at the bottom after the three days of competition relegated to the Second Division.

Jonas Phijffers, who recently won 400 meters at the FBK Games in Hengelo, was set up in Madrid next to Bol on the 400 meters. Minke Bisschops and Elvis Afifa have been designated for the 100 meters.
