The Formula 1 stars around record world champion Lewis Hamilton will continue to pay attention to game changes once a year.

As the motorsport king class announced on Tuesday, the Grand Prix remains from Canada to at least 2035 part of the racing calendar and continues to take place on the traditional route in Montreal.

Formula 1 has been guesting on the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve since 1978, last weekend the Briton George Russell won the 54th edition of the Canada Grand Prix. The existing contract has now been extended by four more years.

Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali praised Montreal in a statement as a “incredible city, full of energy and passionate fans”, the race has an “incredible story in our sport.”

The 4.361 km route is one of the classics in Formula 1. The “Wall of Champions” is particularly notorious, the boundary wall after the harassment before the start and finish, where the three world champions Michael Schumacher, Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve were involuntarily ended in 1999.

The course is also known for its marmots. The route is located on an artificially created, very green island in the Sankt Lorenz current, the rodents are part of the street scene here. They sit strikingly calmly year after year on the racetrack, while the cars race past with more than 300 km/h. Hamilton’s Ferrari was doomed last weekend.
