The German handball players will make a station in Gummersbach and Göppingen on the way to the 2025 World Cup. As the German Handball Association (DHB) announced on Tuesday, the opening game in the qualification for the EM 2026 against Northern Macedonia will take place in Gummersbach on October 16, the dress rehearsal before the World Cup (November 26 to December 14) in Germany and the Netherlands will increase in Göppingen against Switzerland.

Previously, the DHB team will meet the Netherlands on November 21 as part of a course in Krefeld.

“With the home games in Krefeld, Gummersbach and Göppingen, our timetable is on our way to the home World Cup,” said national coach Markus Gaugisch. Together with the handball fans you want to “come to optimal operating temperature”.

The DHB team will come together for a summer course in Dortmund and Rotterdam from July 7th to July 13th. The immediate World Cup preparation starts on November 17th, nine days later, the World Cup opening game against Iceland (November 26) will take place in Stuttgart. Further preliminary rounds against Uruguay (November 28) and Serbia (November 30) follow.
