The film already won prizes in Drenthe, Spain and Glasgow and the makers were also allowed this weekend Boundless betrayal receive a price. This time in Nice, in the ‘best trailer’ category.

The trailer was chosen as the best from around 15,000 entries from 160 countries. Writer and protagonist Peter Nillesen is still enjoying and very happy with the prize. “A nomination is great anyway and to win it is really fantastic.”

Boundless betrayal is a war film about the cut -off high German officer Ludwig Mengelberg, who is stuck between patriotism, sense of duty, conscience and love. The film is set in the period prior to Operation Amherst, a Commando Air Landing Action in April 1945. In addition, around 700 French paratroopers spread throughout Drenthe.

The film was made with a small budget and that is precisely why the quality was labeled as ‘amazing’. “We had a lot of compliments on the evening itself. The American teams could hardly believe that we realized this with such a low budget. Of course they don’t understand the concept of ‘noaberhood’, so I explained it as ‘commitment’,” says Nillesen laughing.

According to Nillesen, the award could only be dedicated to one person: the Drent Rob Camies. “Without Rob the film would never have come that far. He wasn’t there, but I called him very happy, from Nice.”

Nillesen calls it a fairy tale for the entire team. One that hopefully has not ended yet, because the team hopes to get even more prizes.
