Built by the Serenella construction site and signed by Nauta Yachts, it is an avant -garde boat studied by Repower, a company specialized in energy. Elegant and with a surprising autonomy

The development of electric boats, of any size, is linked for now to internal waters (the lakes where in fact they begin not to be rare pearls) and to the protected sea areas, golfs and lagoons. In Northern Europe there are situations where they are used for public transport also with many passengers. In Italy, no doubt that the Venice lagoon represent the ideal place for electric boats, especially the last generation. Lucietta was presented at the last nautical hall, the 100% electrical taxi of Repower. Long 9.30 am 2.30 wide, driven by a 200 kW electric motor with zero emissions, it was designed and built starting from the specific requests of Venetian taxi drivers. Repower, a Swiss group active in the energy and sustainable mobility sector, already in 2018 had launched Repowere, its second full-electric boat. Now with Lucietta takes a step forward in his commitment to a nautical increasingly attentive to the environmental impact which is a fundamental aspect in the lagoon, regulated by regulations.

Inspired by a survey

He did it by choosing two excellent partners: Nauta Yachts, since 1986 absolute reference point in the world of nautical design and Serenella nautical site of Murano, a noble name in Laguna in the construction of motorboats and taxis in the most classic Venetian style. From the hands of his craftsmen the “limousines of the sea” have been released for more than forty years. To get to a “Venetian native” boat (but able to be used in other contexts) Repower made, before the design of Lucietta, a survey between a selection of taxi drivers of the lagoon to understand needs and expectations from such a means. “The dimensions of the taxi of Venice are determined by the city, its channels, its bridges and moorings, therefore construction height, maximum width and length must respect very precise constraints – explains Massimo Gino di Nauta Yachts – starting from the accurate study of the original drawings of the old taxis and from the interviews to the taxi drivers, we defined the essential upgrades to design the electric taxi of the new millennium. Repower represents a reinterpretation of the Venetian taxi in a modern key, with stylistic features that recall the appeal of electric propulsion vehicles, making its sustainable heart immediately recognizable “.

Great autonomy

Lucietta can carry up to 14 people and as mentioned it has a 200 kW Full Electric propulsion powered by a 180 kWh battery pack. The drawing of the hull is optimized to increase autonomy and reduce the wave motion, the first enemy of those who surf in Venice while the lay-out of the blanket offers more space and ease of movement on board-safety is guaranteed by waterproofing and self-distribution systems: an emergency control unit if necessary interrupts energy exchanges. The charging system is quick, based on automotive standards. As for the performance, Lucietta can reach 28-30 knots (about 50 km/h) but, working on Venetian regulatory gaits (7 km/h in smaller channels, 20 km/h in the main ones), is able to cover a whole working day without problems. At 5 knots, autonomy reaches 77 hours empty, 60 hours full of passengers while at 20 knots it stands over 20 hours empty and 15 at full load. The price? For now it is on request, but Repower guarantees that the costs of operating and maintenance of the vehicle are 90% lower than an endothermic taxi.
