The fight for the German championship is in the background. When it comes to diversity in Luhmühlen, a horse was put to sleep after a fall.
A tragic incident overshadowed the competition day in Luhmühlen: the mare Chiquita had to be put to sleep on the area after an accident. The rider Maj-Jonna Ziebell was shaken by the loss of her horse.
During the terrain test of versatility, there was misfortune: the 13 -year -old mare fell. The horse was immediately cared for veterinary and brought to an veterinary clinic. After a veterinary examination, the decision was followed by the decision to put Chiquita to sleep. The organizers said in the evening that it was an “inevitable decision”.
The 29-year-old rider from the Lower Saxony Döhle said deeply: “My horse was something very special. Each of the Chiquita was better to get to know-what she chose herself-fell in love with the horse. I lost my best friend and I am incredibly sad.”
Despite the tragic incident, the competition continued. At the German Championships, Julia Krajewski also claimed her leadership after the off -road test. Tokyo’s Olympic champion competed with the eleven -year -old Nickel and only received 2.4 penalty points for time crossing.
Emma Brüssau moved to second place with Dark Desire from fifth. The decision is made on Sunday in the final jump.
