The Edmonton Oilers with Leon Draisaitl are in the final series around the Stanley Cup after a home defeat against the Florida Panthers with 2: 3 – and can now no longer afford any further defeat.
The Oilers lost 2: 5 (0: 2, 0: 0, 2: 3) against the Panthers in their own hall. The Panthers Stanley Cup winner would be with each further victory, but Edmonton, on the other hand, needs two victories from up to two last games for the NHL title.
In the night from Tuesday to Wednesday (2 a.m. CEST), the sixth game of the series “Best of Seven” takes place in the Hall of the Panthers in Fort Lauderdale.
Panthers bring their lead to the finish
Brad Marchand (09:12) and Sam Bennett (18:06) put Florida in the lead in the first third. After a goalless middle third, Merchand increased to 3: 0 (45:12) at the beginning of the last phase of the game.
Connor McDavid scored the first goal for the Oilers (47:24), but they no longer made a decisive approach. Sam Reinhart (48:10) and Eetu Luostarinen (58:41) secured victory for the Panthers. Corey Perry scored for the interim 2: 4 for the Oilers (56:47).
