World star sings new FIFA anthem

When it comes to FIFA, football needs even more show elements. Now she has commissioned a new “highlight”, which will be heard more often in the future.
With a new song, the FIFA World Federation Association wants to ensure emotional moments at its tournaments-and relies on a world star: Robbie Williams. The 51-year-old “music ambassador” of the World Association will present the new FIFA anthem with the title “Desire” at the opening of the club World Cup in Miami.
At the opening game, Al Ahl from Egypt and Inter Miami CF meet with Argentina’s world champion Lionel Messi. The kick -off is the night of Sunday at 2:00 a.m. German time.
“Desire” will accompany every FIFA tournament in the future
According to FIFA, the play will be played at all tournaments of the association as soon as the teams enter the lawn. Williams is supported in the song by the Italian singer Laura Pausini.
“These two music stars make ‘Desire’ the new song of world football,” enthused FIFA President Gianni Infantino. According to FIFA, the hymn combines emotional depth with a stadium atmosphere – and expresses intensity, pride and sense of community world football.
Williams: “Means me a lot”
“Football and music have been accompanying me for a lifetime, so this task means a lot to me personally,” said Williams, according to the announcement.
He added: “I wanted to create something that captures all of these feelings – the passion, the thrill, the pride and this unique moment just before it starts.”
The club World Cup takes place in the USA. The final will be held in New Jersey on July 13, 2025 – Williams and Pausini should then perform together. The tournament will be aligned for the 21st time, but for the first time in significantly larger format. Bundesliga clubs Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund take part from Germany.
