FC St. Pauli reacted to the departures in the storm center and committed a new attacker with Ricky-Jade Jones. The 22 -year -old Englishman comes from his youth club Peterborough United from the third -class League One.

“We are happy that we were able to convince Ricky from a move to Hamburg. For his age, he already has a lot of experience in professional football and has proven constant services for several years. We are convinced that he can also prevail with the combination of pace, straightforwardness and resistance in the Bundesliga,” said sports director Andreas Bornemann.

Jones was directly involved in 21 goals last season and increased its market value to 800,000 euros. He comes as a replacement for Johannes Eggestein, Andreas Albers (both destinations unknown) and Simon Zoller (end of the career) and Morgan Guilavogui, who had initially been obliged by RC Lens by buying an option and then had to be handed over by a buyback clause.

Jones said about his change: “I had the feeling that the time had come to face a new challenge, and I’m happy to get this opportunity at FC St. Pauli. I am looking forward to a very international team, enthusiastic fans and great opponents in one of the strongest leagues in the world and would like to contribute to a successful season with my skills.”
