The Munich chapter ends after five years for Leroy Sané. Even before the club officially made the departure, the professional turned to the fans in writing.

After tough negotiations with FC Bayern, Leroy Sané made a decision. The 70-time national player leaves the German record champion towards Türkiye. In the night of Thursday, Sané landed in Istanbul, where he will appear for the reigning master Galatasaray in the future. He was welcomed frenetically at the airport by the Turkish fans.

The 29 -year -old offensive player had recently rejected an improved offer by the German champion after a change of consultant. Sané, whose contract is only valid until June 30, leaves Bayern free of charge.

Before the two clubs officially announced the transfer, Sané said goodbye to the Munich team via Instagram. He wrote in English for a video that shows scenes in the Bayern jersey: “Dear Bayern fans, after five intensive years here in Munich I decided to open a new chapter in the coming season. I am incredibly proud to have carried the jersey of the best and largest club in Germany for over 200 games and will always hold the titles we won together.”

And further: “I would like to thank the club, the coaching staff, everyone behind the scenes, my teammates and above all you, the fans, for the time together and the memories we created. I will be grateful for my time here at Bayern forever!”

Sané changed from Manchester City to Munich in 2020 for a transfer of 49 million euros and was four times champion with Bayern. However, he was denied the winning of the DFB Cup and the Champions League.
