The province of Drenthe and Water Board Vechtstroom warn of a high concentration of blue -green algae in the Kleine Rietplas and the large Rietplas – Pearl beach in Emmen. There are warning signs at the water.
Blue algae can cause eyes or skin irritations. Other complaints are headaches, stomach and intestinal complaints.
Earlier a warning for blue -green algae was given for the large Rietplas – Watersportstrand. This warning is still in force.
