The city of Ostend is proud that seals choose their beach as a resting place. That is why it was decided to place a stronger and permanent fence, so that the animals can restrain undisturbed. “It was once that something permanent, but also something that fits in the area.” Says Fabrice Goffin, “We recently counted up to 18 seals in one go. So that means that the population feels good here. And we have to make sure they feel even better.”
