“Finally. It was high time,” says PVV Staten member Tjerk Langman about the adjustments to the dangerous intersection on the N395 at Diessen. The province ensures that there is a safe crossing this fall. The measure follows the tragic accident in which the 13-year-old Noud died.
Tjerk Langman, member of the PVV States, has been following the situation since 2023. “Finally. It was high time. Unfortunately, two terrible accidents were needed to get the province moving. And now there is finally a center conductor here.”
Yet the double feeling also dominates at Langman. “I am happy that safety is being improved. But it is also painful to see that so many accidents were needed. This had had to be done much earlier.”
“It took a long time.”
According to the PVV player, the N395 is one of the most dangerous roads in Brabant. “There is a lot of sneak traffic from the A58. It is a long, straight road and there is far too fast. The middle conductor is a start, but there must be more speed -inhibiting measures. For example, a catch -up ban and extra middle conductors with other side roads.”
Gon Boers, HOI councilor works in Hilvarenbeek, is also happy that something is now changing. But he would rather have seen intervention faster. “It took a long time, longer than we have wanted. It is very good that the middle conductor is coming. And that trees have been felled to improve visibility.”
“Then I might be able to cross safely.”
What particularly puts her is that signals from local residents have been ignored for too long. “Those people see what happens every day. It is always tragic when an accident happens. I understand that the province has a lot to do, but you have to respond to such warnings faster.”
The same care sounds along the road. A young cyclist who drives every day along the intersection is clear: “They drive far too fast here. And it is very dangerous with crossing. It is nice that they make it safer now. Then I might be able to cross safely.”

Jan Klessens, a eightyer who has known the intersection all his life, says: “It is dangerous here. You actually have to make sure you don’t have to cross. It has been a dangerous road for more than fifty years. People have been killed here too.”
According to him, the measure is richly late. “If the calf has drowned, the well is damped. And several calves have already drowned here.”
In the meantime, the province is working on the approach of the N395. After relocating cables and pipes, the center conductor will be placed this fall. There will also be warning signs, extra speed controls and the province will continue to talk to local residents.
