Summer Mcintosh is 18 years old and swims world records in series. For them, superiority is the rule not to lose an option.
The modern transmission techniques make it possible for a small thin line to slide through the water. It shows where the person was or that when he or she set up a world record in swimming.
This little thin line seems to have remained the only opponent for Summer Mcintosh. The 18 -year -old swimmer from Canada is hurried to the competition. How many gold medals will she get in Singapore at the World Championships from July 11th to August 3? How many world records will she swim?
These are the questions that arise for an athlete who set up two world records over 400 meters freestyle and 200 meters within three days when it comes to the preliminary differences in Canada. Almost there would have been three, but over 800 meters of freestyle she was just under a second slower than Katie Ledecky, one of her two idols. The other is Michael Phelps.
Summer Mcintosh will be just 18 years old when the World Cup ends in Singapore. She was just 14 when she was barely past a medal in Tokyo over 400 meters because of the pandemic, 2021 in Tokyo over 400 meters. When she won three gold medals in Paris at the 2024 Olympics, she was just 17.
“Summer Mcintosh not only writes history. She writes it again,” wrote “World Aquatics”, the World Association for Water Sports, now after the two world records at the trials in Victoria.
Almost world record over 800 meters freestyle
It was not the case that Mcintosh reached a wafer tender behind the digital thin lines. The previous world record over 400 meters freestyle prevents them by more than a second. It was 3: 55.38 minutes and was held by the Australian Ariarne Titmus. Now he is 3: 54.18 minutes.
Hungarian Katinka Hosszu held him over 200 meters with 2: 06.12 minutes. Now Mcintosh has it – 2: 05.70 minutes. “Overall, I am very satisfied with this time and always try to further increase”, She said in Victoria, and almost as sober as this statement was also the view of the clock when the new record was documented.
Mc Intosh also keeps the world record on the 50-meter railway over 400 meters. She also holds three records on the short track, all set up at the World Championships in December 2024 in Hungary.
The rule is superiority
The rule for Summer Mcintosh is superiority. “As a child, I tried pretty much every conceivable sport – riding, football, gymnastics, figure skating – before I finally decided to swim,” she said a portal in her Canadian birthplace Toronto. “I was competitive in everything, even at board games and card games.”
In the meantime, Summer Mcintosh lives and trains in Florida and in the smithy of head coach Brent Arckey. “Losing is not an option for her,” said Arcey about Summer Mcintosh. That should still apply, and more and more in the competitions against the thin lines.
