Darts star Chris Dobey has said goodbye to his previous walk-on song after many years. Already last week, the world ranking seven at the World Series in Copenhagen entered a song in the hall, which is one of the best known ever.

A real classic instead of 90s hip hop: Darts superstar Chris Dobey will no longer enter the arena for the song “Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble” by PJ & Duncan, but instead for “Hey Jude” from the Beatles.

Already last week, number seven in the world rankings at the World Series event in Copenhagen went to the song of the legendary British band.

“It is a song that makes the audience happy”

“I felt that I needed a change,” said Dobey. He looked around for a song for a long time and ultimately got stuck with the Beatles classic. “It is a song that makes the audience happy and is very well known,” said the Englishman.

The song also has another meaning for Dobey: “Hey Jude” is the club song of the fans of the English first division club Newcastle United in the recessed version. Dobey is also a follower of the “toons”. The 35-year-old admitted that this connection was quite important to him.

Ultimately, however, it is particularly important that fans like the new song. “At the end of the day, it’s all about you. You pay with your money and earn it to be able to enjoy the whole thing,” said Dobey, who made the headlines in Germany with another inlet music a few weeks ago.

At the Premier League matchday in Berlin, “L’Amour Toujours” by Gigi d’Agostino echoed through the Uber-Arena at Dobeys. This was acknowledged with many loud whistles. The darts star was obviously not aware that the party song on other occasions in Germany was more often misused for xenophobic chants and was banned at the Oktoberfest.
