Italy wins in the World Cup qualification against Moldova. The victory was not a defiance after the latest bankruptcy and the release of coach Luciano Spalletti. After all, the Azzurri climb through the victory in the table.

In the parallel game, however, competitor Norway (1-0 against Estonia) was also able to win and consolidate first place in Group I with four wins from four games. Italy is in third place with three points, but has only played two games. His ticket for the World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada is only the group’s first, the second in the table has to go to the playoffs.

As usual atmospheric and very unimpressed by the coaching room after the bankruptcy against Norway, fans and players smashed the Italian hymn together. The outgoing trainer Spalletti also sang the “Fratelli d’Italia” with full breast. Only shortly afterwards to hike through his coaching zone. It was not the hoped-for fireworks at the end for the 66-year-old, although it would have allowed the atmospheric backdrop.

The starting eleven changes Spalletti on five positons. Andrea Cambiaso, Federico Dimarco, Luca Ranieri, Davide Frattesi and Samuele Ricci slide into the starting eleven. But the outsider caused the next shock early on for the last suffering Azzuri fans. Ion Nicolaescu used a nice flank for the early 1-0 (10th), but was clearly offside. Nevertheless, the initial euphoria of the fans subsided through the early shock.

Italy caught ceiling – before Moldau hits don’t count

The Italian debut Ranieri was the first to shook and hit the latte (16th) minutes after the no given goal. A namesake of Florence professionals could soon also make a debut in the national team. The current Roma trainer Claudio Ranieri is expected to become the new national coach in Italy. The two are not related.

The home side had a lot of possession of the ball, but less compelling goal chances and so the game struded a little. If the Italians found a gap in the deeply standing Moldal defense, it became dangerous immediately. First Retegui (32nd) failed to Cristian Avram in the goal, then Dimarco (37th) failed from an acute angle. In the 40th minute, the overwhelming possession ratio of 75 percent finally paid off – at least in the eyes of the home fans.

Italy’s Giacomo Raspadori cheered his goal against Moldau

The best offensive player in the first half, Cambiaso, brought one of his many flanks to the center, where on the left side Giacomo Raspadori scored 1-0 after a little ping pong. Anyone who thought that the Squadra Azzurra would confidently play down the remaining minutes or even add to them should be disappointed, because the final phase was like a Moldeaous urge phase. First Reabciuk (44.) Gianluigi Donnaromma checked, then Nicolaescu narrowly missed the right corner.

Cambiaso gives Italy ideal start in the second half

With the deserved, but by no means convincing 1-0 lead, both teams came back on the lawn. And that faltered right away. Nicolaescu brought a nice cross with his head towards Donnarumma, the ball stroked past the right post. The hit then fell on the opposite side. After a cross, Cambiaso was spot on the second post and only had to insert (50th).

Even the second goal did not change the game of the Moldova. The team of coach Serghei Clescenco lurked on counterattack. There were no really compelling situations on both sides, and several Italians missed the last consequence in the end. Some foot, footproof or head were still in between from Moldau. In the 72nd minute, the goal shot statistics were 26 to ten degrees for the southern Europeans.

Moldau presents itself well – Italy takes out pressure

In the final phase, the Italians took the intensity a little, which enabled the Moldovan new opportunities. The tirelessly arable guests have long earned a goal in the final phase at the latest. A header extension landed in the hands of Donnarumma, which then invited the guests to a goal. However, Moldau was unable to use the gift from the Italian goalkeeper, so that in the end it remained with a 2-0 and thus a victorious Spalletti party.
