Eintracht Braunschweig presented the first external new addition for the coming season. After the end of the contract, Lukas Frenkert joins the Lower Saxony from second division competitor Prussia Münster. The 24 -year -old central defender signed an extension with an option by 2027.
“We are very pleased that we were able to convince a very courted central defender of our way with Lukas. Lukas can play all positions in the defense, is two-footed, brings qualities in the game structure and header strength. He has played a very good season in Münster and we are convinced that he will build on it with us and has further potential in his development,” said Sport Managing Director Benjamin Kessel about Frenkert, who recently increased its market value three times in a row to currently 900,000 euros.
Frenkert added: “I heard a lot of positive things about the club in advance and experienced a very large appreciation of those responsible. That gave me a very good feeling from the start. I would like to bring my strengths in the team so that we can look back on a successful season at the end of the season and celebrate many successes together with our fans in the future.”
The contract of central defender Robert Ivanov expires at the BTSV in summer, and loan Paul Jaeckel returns to his regular association Union Berlin.
