The German selection is spared a potentially exhausting extension. In a draw against France, the penalty shootout is directly decided.

The German national team can adapt to a new rule if the encounter against France ends on Sunday (from 3 p.m. in the T-Online live ticker) after 90 minutes of a tie. Instead of an extension, the penalty shootout follows. The European Football Union (UEFA) officially announced this one day before the game for third place in Stuttgart.

This special regulation only applies to the so -called “small finale” in the Nations League. The conventional mode applies to the final.

Should there be no winner after the regular playing time in the final between European champion Spain and Germany converter Portugal (from 9 p.m.) in Munich, the encounter will be extended by twice 15 minutes.
