An offensive professional shines in the national jersey, but his potential does not seem to come into play at the club. Now his trainer positions himself.

Antonio Nusa was one of the most striking players in the convincing 3-0 victory in Norway against Italy in the World Cup qualification. The 20-year-old RB Leipzig player convinced with an assist and his own goal. In the national team, he comes to twelve goal participations in 14 missions. So far, his club RB Leipzig has not benefited to the same extent.

Norway’s national coach Ståle Solbakken sees the reason for this in positioning the offensive player. Unlike the Saxons, where Nusa is often used on the right side in midfield or even defensive, he comes to the train in the national team on his preferred left. Solbakken explained to the Norwegian newspaper “Dagbladet”: “He is good because he plays in the position he should play. He never does that in the club.”

In the past season, Nusa came across the same quota in the past season as for Norway: twelve direct goal participations in 36 competitive games. Solbakken said: “The Bundesliga has not yet discovered Nusa. There he is a goal arm, here he delivers.”

The player himself also commented. “I play a different position in the national team. I wish I would also play them at club level more often,” said Nusa. In a departure from Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, which is placed on the left wing, Nusa’s chances of playing in his preferred position could rise.

According to the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano RB, Simons wants to leave after the missed qualification for the Champions League. The club has already been informed about the change of change. In the end, however, no offer was received. So far, Manchester City has only had on the piece of paper.
