The funeral was preceded by an impressive honorary hedge, formed by the various services of the Bruges police force. The coffin was carried in by the oldest colleagues of the chief of police.
Yves Rotty has only been at the head of the Bruges police zone for a year and a half, but left a strong impression in that short time. “He was very close to his men. For me as mayor it was a pleasant and fascinating collaboration,” mayor Dirk De Fauw testified.
