The House of Representatives election will take place on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. The Council of Ministers therefore approved the proposal of Minister Uitermark of the Interior and Kingdom Relations.
The minister follows the advice of the Electoral Council, after talking about the feasibility of the elections with the Association of Dutch Municipalities (VNG) and the Dutch Association for Civil Affairs (NVVB). Both parties see October 29, 2025 as a workable date. The proposed date was then also passed in the Council of Ministers.
Uitermark: “Elections are a crucial part of our democracy. I think everyone should be able to cast their vote as well as possible.
