The qualification rounds for the 2026 World Cup are in full swing. Ten teams have already qualified.
The hosts (USA, Mexico and Canada)
The USA, Mexico and Canada are the hosts of the 2026 World Cup. As such, they are automatically set for the tournament and can save themselves the way through qualification tournaments. Mexico will finally open the World Cup on June 11th in the Azteken Stadium in Mexico City.

Japan
In March 2025, Japan was the first non-host country to solve a ticket for the World Cup. Six victories and a draw after seven match days mean that no one can make a place in the first two of the Japanese. The defeat against Australia on the penultimate matchday (0: 1, 05.05.2025) does not change anything.

New Zealand
Oceania has a fixed starting place for the first time at the upcoming World Cup. This was played out in a KO qualification tournament. In the final on March 24, 2025, New Zealand prevailed 3-0 against New Caledonia and thus made the third participation in a final round after 1982 and 2010.
Iran
For the fourth time in a row, Iran has qualified for the World Cup finals. In the Asian qualification group A, the Iranians lead the table two game days before the end. A 2: 2 against Uzbekistan (25.03.2025) means that nothing can burn in the remaining two games.

Argentina
As the first South American team, Argentina is determined as a participant in the 2026 World Cup. The world champion won 4: 1 against arch -rival Brazil on the 14th matchday of the qualification carried out as a league system. Because Bolivia could not win against Uruguay at the same time, the “Albiceleste” is no longer to take the World Cup participation.
Uzbekistan
For the first time, Uzbekistan qualified sensationally for the World Cup. Well, this may also be due to the new mode of the World Cup with the increase in 48 teams, which is thanks to the fact that Asia is allowed to send a total of eight participants to North America. Nevertheless, Uzbekistan has earned participation with just one defeat from 15 games so far.
South Korea
In Group B of Asian qualifications, South Korea prevailed 2-0 against Iraq on Thursday (June 5, 2025). With the victory, it is now there a match day before the end with 19 points and thus has at least second place – and thus a direct place of participation – for the World Cup.

Jordan
The same applies to Jordan, which plays in the same group as South Korea. A few hours before his game, the Jordanians won 3-0 against Oman and also have 19 points. However, the qualification was only perfect after Iraq’s defeat. Just like Uzbekistan, it is also the first World Cup participation for Jordan.
